07: Make Time for Fun.

CW Podcast

DISCLAIMER: Yesterday was a SUPER sobering day. And I don't want to have this episode come across as making light of all the painful memories that Sept. 11 brings up.

Because: Today I'm talking about...

Making time for fun.

Because a lot of times we can be so caught up in the "business" of life. (Cleaning, cooking, working, etc.)

I want to hear from you! Tell me:

What are your north stars?

and

How are you going to use those to be more intentional about the time that you spend having fun?

Make Time For Fun - Episode 7 - Chasing Wonderment Podcast
On to the Show Notes:

I love fun, love having fun! In fact, something super-silly: I can have fun cleaning toilets. 😆

But: I've also learned that if I forget to make simple things fun (like cleaning toilets!), they quickly become things that I dread.

It's SO important to have FUN personally:

What is Fun for you? For me, it's: Creativity, Learning, Business, a Challenge.

Make time for PERSONAL fun in your schedule.

Set aside time each day/week.

Being creative for fun increases your creativity in your job(s).

You need to make time to have Fun with OTHERS.

What is fun with friends? For me it's coffee dates/new restaurants/going on adventures, taking time to unplug + connect.

On the flip side of this - too much fun leads to frustration and dissatisfaction — and ends up not being fun at ALL.

It's like "stolen" fun — you didn't EARN it. Binging on Netflix, avoiding the work that needs to get done... and you end up feeling guilt, shame, and frustration in the long run.

I'm trying to let everything I do be directed by a "North Star." A North Start is something that is SUPER important to me, and is a guide for how I direct my actions.

So, what are your "north stars" as a person?

➢ For me, personally: CREATIVITY
➢ For me relationally: MAKING MEMORIES

And now... make ROOM for that - in ALL aspects of life. You can ALWAYS find ways to add that in - no matter your schedule, income, etc.

So I want to hear from you! Tell me:

What are your north stars?

and

How are you going to use those to be more intentional about the time that you spend having fun?

Let's chat in the comments! ☺️

The order of your podcasts is well done, Kate. It is difficult to think about fun without the steps of your previous podcasts. Chasing wonderment is starting to click in my understanding. Keep up the great work!

    Best,
    Emily
