3 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Give Up.

Lately, I have been thinking a TON about giving up...

... and sticking with something.

Often the moments that you want to give up are the ones where you need to keep going. They are the times that you need to press in harder, and dig deeper.

When I'm exercising, the moment it starts to burn is when the muscles begin to change. That’s when I need to dig in and do a few more reps. That’s when it’s important to keep pressing in.

Right when the job gets hard is usually when you need to stick it out. Right before the finish line is when your legs are the most tired and jiggly. It's when you get cramps and wonder if you will EVER see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Girl: You CANNOT Give Up.

You might be exhausted from decluttering your house because you're not seeing results. You might be worn down, frustrated that you're not seeing any change with your exercise routine. Maybe you're wrestling with a stubborn teenager and you're ready to give up and let them make some really dumb decisions that you know they'll regret later.

You Cannot Give Up.

3 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Give Up.

I wanna share a few lies I've believed in the past, and why I'm fighting them with everything I've got now. I have given up on too many good things, and I'm DONE wishing I could've done something different. It's time to flip the script, shed some light on the lies, and be encouraged to PUSH FORWARD to that finish line!

Lie #1:

It isn't Working!

Right when it's the most difficult is when you're tempted to think that it isn't working. You can't always see results right away. Did you know it can take 2 weeks to a MONTH to see results from consistent exercise? YEAH. If you can hang in there for another day or two, you're going to see some AMAZING changes.

You Cannot Give Up.

Lie #2:

It's too Hard!

Usually when something gets harder is when you’re the most vulnerable to feeling defeated. That’s when it’s easiest to just fling up your hands and say “It’s too hard. I’m out.” But usually, right when it gets too hard is when you're about to see the light at the end of the tunnel. (Plus: if nothing else is gained or learned from the experience… what if you made it through the other side with a better appreciation of the level of "hard" you can handle?)

You Cannot Give Up.

Lie #3:

It's not Worth it!

Oh, man... this lie is a DOOZY. If you're pushing hard towards something you've never done before, you don't know what's around the corner. You don't know if it's worth it or not! You can't see if you'll get there. But… You don't KNOW until you get there! If you're questioning if this hard stuff is REALLY worth it all, go back to the reason you started. Do you want to feel better? Change the world? Make a difference in your family? I'm gonna say it's 100% worth it. Remind yourself of the TRUTH… and remember...

You Cannot Give Up.

I feel like I'm preaching hard on this one, but I know just how many times I've needed to hear this. I know how many times I've given up and later… Regretted it. And I don't want you to walk through another day, regretting giving up on a pursuit, dream, or goal that is buried deep in your heart.

I don't care who you are or what you're going through: We have ALL been in a situation where we are ready to throw in the towel. But giving up on something that you know you're called to do ONLY leads to regret.

Now, please hear me: I am NOT talking about using wisdom and taking a step back from a situation that is obviously not right or not meant for you. If you are stuck in a dead-end job that isn't right for you, quitting is NOT giving up. It's being wise. If you are struggling with a toxic relationship, stepping back and putting up boundaries isn't giving up: it's using wisdom.

I am talking about the times that you KNOW you want to do something, or are CALLED to do something… and giving up before you get to the finish line. Maybe it's finishing those foster care classes. Maybe it's a dream to be strong and healthy so you have the energy to keep up with your kids. Maybe it's writing that book that you've had buried down deep inside you for YEARS.

3 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Give Up.

GIRL: You Cannot Give Up.

Don't give up! Don't stop running your race. Don't walk away from this life with regret. If it's not all you thought it was going to be… okay, then. But don't get to the end of you life and look back with MORE regret than you already have!

  • I don't want to look back and wonder what it would've happened if I had been brave enough to step outside my comfort zone and write this blog post.

  • I don't want to wonder who's lives might have been changed if I had just tried to build this business to encourage women.

  • I don't want to wish I had stuck with the hard stuff… the planning and the writing blogs and the scheduling podcasts.

  • I don't want to wonder if I had missed my chance to help encourage others to live the life they were meant to.

Now, I am NOT arrogant enough to believe that I can change the lives of women in my own strength. I believe that I am called to encourage you, but if I don't pick up that baton… Someone else will. But what amazing blessings and growth will I miss out on because I'm too scared to do the hard things?

What amazing blessings will YOU miss out on if you give up now?

Girl, I'm gonna say it again:

You Cannot Give Up.

For the hope of what might be coming next, you cannot give up. For the joy of what you'll experience… you cannot give up. For the results that are coming right around the corner… YOU CANNOT GIVE UP.

It might be as simple as getting to the endorphin rush at the end of that next workout. It might be that you realize you CAN, in fact, get through to the stubborn middle-schooler that is driving you NUTS. It might be that you stick with a project that impacts millions of people around the globe. You never know when your own persistence can make a difference in someone else's life.

Look, I don't know what your version of "hard" looks like right now. I don't know what you're going through. But I believe that you are NOT an accident, and that you were put on this earth for a reason. You were put on this earth for an amazing purpose. Please, PLEASE… don't give up.

For the sake of future you, or maybe even future generations… You Cannot Give Up. Let's encourage one another to dig in deeper and Keep Going. ❤️

Share something you're tempted to give up in… and I'll send you some personalized encouragement right in your inbox!
