How Habit Stacking Has Helped Me Create Routines (that I Don't Hate!)

How's THAT for a title? 😂 Seriously, though - I HATE SCHEDULES. Anything that stays the same, day after day feels monotonous on, like... day 2. 😬 Which makes life pretty tricky in general, because... well, the same things need to be done every day! I first heard about "habit stacking" a few years ago, and the idea intrigued me. So, here's what habit stacking is:  Basically, you start with ONE small habit, and you stack other little habits after that first one, as you learn & master them. Before you know it, you've got gentle routines that feel normal...

Dear Body,

Live Well.

Dear Body,  I am SUPER proud of you. For carrying and birthing 2 babies in 14 months. For keeping me alive. For fighting to get healthy again. For holding onto all that extra weight, because you knew I wasn't healthy inside. For letting go of it now that it's the right time. For the stretch marks, my Momma-stripes that remind me of how you stretched to make room for two inside babies. Have you ever felt like you're doing EVERYTHING you possibly can, and getting nowhere? It's like you're on a bike that should be moving forward, and suddenly you look up and realize that you're in spin class. 😂 That's how I felt at the end of 2018. I had been pedaling SO hard on my business, and I wasn't getting where I wanted to be. And, worse still, I realized that I didn't even know where I wanted to be pedaling! Maybe I wanted to be in spin class? Or did I want to get off the bike entirely? (I found...

One Way to Embrace Life. (Hint: It's not Perfection)

I love the moments when I feel most at home in my own skin. They have been coming more often as I'm getting more comfortable with the "Me" that God made. But a few days ago I wrote something in my journal that has really settled into my heart and has given me SO much rest.  I think for years I've tried to make EVERYTHING I do perfect... and I've gotten frustrated when I got interrupted while I was podcasting. Or blogging. Or washing the dishes... but what if the interruptions, the mistakes, and the mess is exactly what makes...
