Chasing Wonderment Journal — Live Well.

One Way to Embrace Life. (Hint: It's not Perfection)

Live Well.

One Way to Embrace Life. (Hint: It's not Perfection)

I love the moments when I feel most at home in my own skin. They have been coming more often as I'm getting more comfortable with the "Me" that God made. But a few days ago I wrote something in my journal that has really settled into my heart and has given me SO much rest.  I think for years I've tried to make EVERYTHING I do perfect... and I've gotten frustrated when I got interrupted while I was podcasting. Or blogging. Or washing the dishes... but what if the interruptions, the mistakes, and the mess is exactly what makes...

How to Start Living Intentionally.

I know how difficult it can be to live with purpose. I get distracted by text messages when I should be writing, or play a game instead of washing the dishes. Watch a few too many episodes on Netflix instead of being intentional about spending time with Alex. It's easy to get side-lined, whether by social media, or every new idea that pops into your head. Life is Good.

This life is SO good. Yep, right here, right now... even though my toddler just colored ALL over the walls yesterday. Even while I have a stack of dishes to wash, laundry to fold, and I haven't exercised in over a week. This life is still good.    There was a time when saying that wasn't easy. The work and the hard things I had to do made it really hard to find joy in the everyday. You know the old saying "You can't see the forest for the trees"? Well, I was so lost in the forest of busy...

It's OKAY to Start Over.

It's OKAY to Start Over.

Yesterday morning was ROUGH. Last week was a busy one, and the hustle and bustle showed up in the attitudes of the kids (and me!). I was tired and cranky. Both kids were bickering and whining… nothing seemed to make them happy. To top it all off, after spending the morning running errands, we got home only to realize that I had locked the keys in the house.  So, the groceries got unloaded, and we all bumped into each other, physically and emotionally. Finally, I passed snacks out all around, and tried to ease the tension I was feeling. (Feelings...
