I'm NOT a huge fan of schedules... I think you might've already guessed that, though. 🙊 The thought of being tied down to a daily schedule that is monotonous just about kills me. Having daily tasks that HAVE to happen at a certain time every day - well... that's my idea of torture. 😆
But then I discovered RHYTHMS. 🙌🏻 The difference between a schedule and a rhythm is that a rhythm isn't set in stone. You have flexibility to move your rhythms around to fit into a looser, less rigid lifestyle. (Now, THAT'S my jam! 😜)
So... what's the first thing you need to have in order to establish rhythms?
A LIST. 😆Yep, every good thing always starts with a list. 🙌🏻 You need to write down everything that will help your life run smoothly. What needs to happen in order to make your work easier? What about your home? Your kids going to school? WRITE IT ALL DOWN!
Find your "SYSTEM."So... this is something I've learned in the past few months: The "reward" system after you do something difficult or hard?... Yeah... that doesn't work for me. I've realized that I am willing do ANYTHING — if I can make it fun. Yep, even cleaning toilets. 🙊 I've learned that if I give myself the reward FIRST, it automatically makes the work FUN! Now... that's what works for ME. What about you?
TEST, Rework, and TEST AGAIN.This is where the rubber meets the road. How to tell if this will work? YOU GOTTA TEST. See if something works, and then try again! If it didn't work, you didn't fail! You just learned one thing that didn't work for you, and it's time to go back to the drawing board and try again!
I really hope this encourages you - especially if you're like me, and have felt like a failure for YEARS because you aren't good at keeping a schedule!
