My Bullet Journal Layout for 2021
I am obsessed with bullet journaling — but not because organization comes naturally to me! I’m not naturally great at planning and organization, and this creative planner method has totally changed my life. Keep reading to see how I set up my bullet journal for 2021!

When I first started bullet journaling, I set my planner up very similar to the original creator’s method (watch the original video here!) The more I’ve used this planning method, the more I make it my own. I’ve switched up the layouts to work better for me, tried tons of different designs, and I’m always testing and tweaking it to make sure it’s working well for me and my life!
I use the Baron Fig Confident Journal, and I use one every 6 months. I actually prefer switching to a new journal half-way through the year, because I don’t get bored with the color. 😉 (use my coupon code to get $10 off your order!)
On the first page, I made a “Word of the Year” page. I decided to have fun and do some “scrapbooking” in my journal this year. It’s been a really fun creative addition!
Then the basics: the Index (I only need one page for the index.)
The Future Log: (I use this to keep track of monthly tasks that I usually forget — like cleaning filters, etc)
And then I’ve got 6 months of calendars. This is a stray from the original method, but I’ve found it’s helpful for me to have all my calendars at the front of my journal, instead of having one at the beginning of every month.
Next up: I’ve got a spread that I’m going to use to document my health journey this year! (I joined Noom at the end of 2020 to get my weight & nutrition in balance.)
Then I spent a few days doing my year-end-review, and vision-casting for the new year! I love having these pages saved in my journals each year. 😍
After all those pages, it’s time for the monthly & daily spreads! I tested out a folded-page spread for January — I love how it turned out! (The inspiration for this spread came from a few pins on my planning and bullet journaling Pinterest board!)
On the flip -side of the folded piece paper, I have a mood-tracker, and a page with a habit-tracker, my goals, and what’s working/not working. (This helps me make sure I’m not getting distracted with my goals!)
Last, my weekly spreads! — I keep them fairly minimal, but sometimes I’ll take the time to add pictures or doodle on them, but not often. And that’s it! (So far! 😉 )
Sometime in the last week of January, I’ll design a new monthly spread, and lay out the 4 weekly spreads for the month! (I like to do all the weekly spreads at one time so they’re easier to find.)
