Trying to figure out how to prioritizing can feel REALLY heavy… especially if you struggle with people-pleasing, or making decisions! So, how do you prioritize your to-do list when it feels like All. The. Things. are the most important? Here are 3 Tips to help you spring clean your priorities!
IS IT GLASS, OR PLASTIC?
When it comes to all the things you juggle, it helps to ask yourself if the task or priority is GLASS, or PLASTIC. Here’s how this helps: If you have three tasks, imagine that they are all plates, and the most important ones are glass. This helps you make better decisions, because it’s easy to set a plastic plate down. It’s not going to break! But the really important plates are glass, and if you drop one, it will shatter. You’ll probably find that your glass plates are things like relationships, faith, work, or maybe your health.PICK YOUR TOP 3-5:
Choose the top 3-5 MOST IMPORTANT things in your life (this is like making categories for your “Glass Plates”), and then use that as a tool to evaluate your priorities. Did somebody ask you to add something to you week? Is it going to make you set aside a priority that truly matters to you? If so… is it worth it?
