Have you ever wished that you had time for something… but you never seem to get around to it? Maybe fear is stopping you… or you’re telling yourself you don’t have time. I’ve wasted a lot of time on things that aren’t important. I’ve grabbed my phone to research something, then accidentally spent 2 hours scrolling on Instagram. I’ve said “Yes” to things that I didn’t have time for. I’ve made it to the end of a week, and wondered where all my time went.
We tend to get side-tracked from the things that are important to us.
Here’s the thing:
Life is too short to wish it away. It’s too good to spend hours scrolling, or just hoping that someday you’ll have time to do what you want to do. You’ve got to take a chance at this thing called life.
You get GET go after what lights you up inside. You GET to follow the dreams that God has put deep in your soul. You GET to live your best life!
Maybe for you, your best life looks like travel, and adventures. Maybe it’s living a quiet life, with simplicity and peace at the center of everything. Or maybe you crave creativity, new ideas and crazy inventions. But the question you need to ask yourself is WHY are you waiting?
What’s stopping you from living your best life?
There comes a point when you have to make a choice.
You can choose to stay right where you are. You can sit, waiting and wishing for something different. Maybe you’re not ready to make changes, or you’re just too stubborn to get out of your own way. There are times when you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel… even though it’s right around the corner. Or, maybe you just need to get off Netflix, and go write a bucket list.
The biggest thing holding you back from chasing your dreams is YOU. You can go on adventures NOW. You can live your best life TODAY. Chase that evening sunset. Enjoy a quiet night at home with your pup and your knitting. Are you ready to start?
Here are 4 Steps to Living your Best Life:
Get Clarity.
Grab a journal or a piece of blank paper. Write down what you most want your life to look like… and feel like. Get detailed! Do your days look empty, or busy? Is there lots of space for adventures, or naps? Do you love your job, or would you love a change of pace? Get clear on your dreams so you know where to focus.

Stop Procrastinating:
It will NEVER happen if you do nothing. I’ve wasted so much time, put off big dreams, and done nothing because I told myself there wasn’t any point. “I mean, it’s not going to happen any time soon…” Don’t waste another second living a life you’re not in love with.
Take Baby Steps.
What small steps can you take today? You probably can’t go quit your job (because, BILLS), but you can take a tiny step towards your dream job. You can start downsizing the clutter so you’re not overwhelmed. You can’t change everything in your life all at once, but you CAN take baby steps towards your big dreams.
Stop Sabotaging Yourself!
It’s scary to take a leap of faith and imagine a different life. But if you have a poor mindset, you’ll sabotage yourself — every time. Let yourself hope and work towards something different! Don’t let anyone tell you that your dreams impossible — including yourself.
Have you tried to make changes before, and failed? Girl — you’re not alone! Just remember, it took Thomas Edison 1,000 tries to make a light bulb. So, if you’ve put in 20 applications for your dream job, don’t stop! You might hear the news you’ve been waiting for on your 26th try. Would you rather work hard for something you want, or just sit on the sidelines and hope something changes?
You only fail when you QUIT.
Don’t go another day without at least trying. Take one, tiny baby step. Turn off the TV and go for a run. Get a second job. Outline the book. Create that business plan. Who knows… maybe you’ll wake up tomorrow and realize that you’re finally living the life you’ve always wanted. It’s time to live your best life — today. What are you waiting for?
